Concord Hospital Health System Secures Over $353,000 to Advance Maternal Health and Maternity Care
Concord Hospital Health System (CHHS) has received over $353,000 in grants and donations to enhance maternity, prenatal, and postnatal OB/GYN patient care across central New Hampshire. These gifts contribute to a $2.8 million campaign supporting major renovations at The Family Place at Concord Hospital, innovative pilot programs, and critical resources for families.
"A unique aspect of The Family Place at Concord Hospital is patients remain in the same room through every stage of labor, delivery, and recovery,” said Melissa Devine, director of women and children’s value stream at The Family Place at Concord Hospital. “The upgrades will enhance that unique experience, ensuring families thrive in a safe and inviting environment during their stay."
Funding Highlights
The Family Place Renovations: $250,000 from an anonymous donor, $40,000 from The Abbie F. Mosely Charitable Trust, Citizens Bank, N.A., Trustee, $17,445 from The Jessie Gould Fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, and $2,500 from Bruce Dyke.
JADA Pilot: $12,555 from Abbie F. Mosely Charitable Trust, Citizens Bank, N.A., Trustee, to test a medical device for addressing postpartum hemorrhage.
cHello Family! Program: $6,520 from Benjamin Couch Trust, TD Bank, N.A., Trustee, and $2,500 from Gertrude Couch Trust, TD Bank, N.A., Trustee.
Car Seat Program: $2,200 from Merrimack County Savings Bank Foundation.
Pediatrics Services: $10,400 from Ron and Alice Cohen.
Maternity Comfort Closet: $7,500 from Mary Louise Billings Trust, Citizens Bank, N.A., Trustee, and $1,500 from Speedway Children’s Charities.
We established a Maternity Comfort Closet at Concord Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology in Laconia to support parents,” said Mario Rosario, practice manager. “It provides newborn clothing and other essentials to help families prepare for their baby’s arrival and address the need for necessities in a meaningful way.”
The Family Place at Concord Hospital offers modern birthing rooms, comprehensive childbirth and parenting classes, free lactation support, and home visits from visiting nurses.
